The threat from Active Armed Offender Incidents (AAOIs) within Australia continues to be both very real, and significant. As regularly seen around the world, and recently here in Australia, attacks can take place at any time, without warning, in any location, impact any organisation either directly or indirectly, and vary in size and motivation. Sadly, AAOIs cannot always be prevented, and as such, clear response strategies need to be developed and implemented, in conjunction with activities to assist in creating resilience within workplaces to reduce their impact, and hasten recovery.
