Active Armed Offender Incidents (AAOI) can occur at any time, in any place, and often without warning. With these incidents occurring with greater regularity in our workplaces and communities, what do you need to do to maintain your safety, and make sure that you and your team are able to go home when the incident is over?

In this course, you will learn practical, best practice strategies that will assist you to prepare your workforce, potentially prevent incidents (through enhanced awareness and reporting of suspicious behaviours and activities), and where necessary, make the best possible decisions to maintain your safety during an AAOI.

Directly aligned with Australian and New Zealand National Security strategies, and developed by industry leaders who are subject matter experts in this space, this eLearning training solution is designed to complement Workforce Resilience ‘face to face’ AAOI – Frontline Safety and Security Awareness Scenario Training, and bTAQ Behavioural Workshop initiatives, in your workplace.

PLEASE NOTE:

Active Armed Offender Incidents can be a confronting topic. Should you experience a challenging personal reaction to any of the course content during this training, please seek immediate support from your manager, a colleague or your Employee Assistance Program.

This course will cover:

  • An introduction to Active Armed Offender Incidents
  • What should you consider around Preparation and Prevention Strategies?
  • Best Practice Response Strategies
  • Post Incident and Recovery Considerations

This course is designed to complement face to face training which will continue to provide the best learning outcomes for you, your colleagues and wider workforce. Regular training is recommended which will provide you with what is commonly referred to as muscle memory. Put simply, muscle memory is associated with repetition of activities which allows you to remember certain skills and perform them without difficulty when confronted by incidents

This training has been developed by industry and subject matter experts based on personal professional experience, research and engagement with clients.

Note: Violence in the workplace is not ok, and it can be a confronting topic. Should you be concerned at any stage during the training, please seek support from your manager, a colleague, or related Employee Assistance Program.
